Why “mms”?

Why is my blog named “monash medical student” or “mms” for short?

The reason was simple. My lack of originality and creativity has led me to take lead from Mexico Medical Student. Thanks Enrico!

I decided to have a simple and plain title, so Monash was chosen because that is the City i resided in during my pre-clinical years. The City of Monash.

I chose deliberately not to use “Melbourne” because it might sound too like my counterparts across the Yarra River.

Q&A

1. Aren’t you afraid that you tamper the name of Monash University?

Absolutely. However, it is a constant reminder to stay true to the traditions of Monash University and the global objectives of our 5-yr MBBS course.

2. Have you considered changing names of your blog?

 

Certainly. I flirted with several ideas of which i am too ashamed to publish. With many incoming emails and questions about interviews for Monash University MBBS course, i admit it is a little overwhelming at times. But i remember before i got in, i received quite some aid from helpful souls on forums too. This might be an opportunity to give something, of value i hope, in return, in a little way. Also, the fear of coming short of the tall order in my response in question 1 has struck me at times, but i count it as a personal challenge rather than anything else. Lastly, with some incoming links from fellow bloggers, i do not wish to trouble them to change their blogroll links just for me.
