update
Hi all. i haven’t been updating because i have been busy with an upcoming medical mission trip preparation, had a holiday from Friday to Sunday (Star Cruises Superstar Virgo), and perhaps just in a blogging slump.

maybe another time for the 6D5N one.
Anyway, the medical mission trip to Cambodia will be from this coming Tuesday (15 jan to 24 jan), and then i’ll be back in Singapore for a week or so before i head Down Under on 2 Feb to get ready for my 3rd year in medical school which is to begin on Monday, 4 Feb! (Exciting stuff) I am not sure if i am to start a 18-week Gen Medicine rotation first, or an equally-long General Surgery rotation. In any case, it’ll be a transition to ward-based learning from class-based learning in the University. More on that in a while.
Mission trip overview: It will have 4 days of medical work (clerking) integrated with Gospel sharing. Other days will be devoted to Christian missionary work. Will talk more about it another day or when i’m back.

The above quote is taken from Matthew 28:19. I don’t think i am worthy enough to “teach them to observe all things whatsoever I [Jesus] have commanded you…” (Matt 28:20a)
but the 2nd part of verse 20 is very reassuring,
“… and, lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world. Amen.”
Meanwhile, i have also written an article named “Politics and the place of doctors”, and part 1 is published at a Singaporean current affairs blog, The Online Citizen. I joined it a while back and this article was something i promised so that’s that. They are far too serious over there and i also don’t feel qualified enough to speak about current affairs there. It is an avenue where i keep abreast though. part 1 was something i deliberately cut off at a certain point to invite more comments and see what readers thought. the lack of comments obviously showed my popularity and lack of quality. hopefully part 2 will be better. that will be published at a time deemed fit by the site’s editor. You are most welcome to read them and provide some feedback.
Thanks for listening. God bless.

Hey enjoy your mission trip fellow bro and TOC writer!
I am encouraged by your passion for God in sharing His love and truth. Keep spreading! =)
Have a safe and good trip!
Wow, how exciting! I hope you have a great time on your mission, but *stay safe*!!
18 weeks for medicine *and* surgery? And I thought my med school was long at 12 weeks. The ones at my current hospital only have 6. *Not* enough time for either. But especially surgery. You can only hear about the million causes of hyponatremia so many times.
thanks andrew, ramona and lightsnsteel for your well wishes.
yea 18 wks of gen med, 18 wks of gen surg. and that will conclude my year 3. then i head on to a semester of psych and GP, a semester of obgyn and paeds to make up year 4. and then 7 6-week elective rotations for year 5.
